Charlotte & Liam were married in an intimate ceremony at Kitley House, Devon, UK. I was lucky enough to have my mum come along and 2nd shoot with me - she is still a bit of a newbie to weddings but check out her Black and White shots! I have to say Charlotte and Liam were great fun to work with, with a fantastic sense of style. Charlotte had the most amazing shoes 0 there was some serious show envy that day! At the end of the photo shoot we decided to add in some fun shots with some masquerade ball masks - I though they worked really well with the venue and the date - just before Halloween! Thanks you Charlotte and Liam for having us along and being part of your special day!

Anna & Dan were married last weekend in Wellington. I had been looking forward to this wedding for a while - a stunning dress by Sophie Voon, Hill Cook and her team for hair & make-up, ceremony at the Old Museum Building and reception at St John's Bar - it was going to be great. And it was.

Anna looked amazing - this girl has the most beautiful dreamy eyes. Her bridesmaids looked fab as well, and the groom and groomsmen didn't disappoint either!

The girls got ready at the Othel Hotel on Oriental Bay, whilst the boys were over at the Museum Hotel. Here's Dan checking out whats happening on the street below whilst getting ready. The it was off to the bar for a pint.

The Old Museum is a beautiful building with stunning windows. I love this shot from Marise.

Them it was off to Oriental Bay for a walk along the beach. I love the fact that in Wellington you can stroll along the beach with the city in the background.

Amy & Laurence were married at Tarueka Estate in Featherston last weekend. Tarureka is a beautiful old homestead that has recently been lovengly re-vamped. It was previuosly know as 'The Loft'

We started the day with the prep shots. As they were both getting ready on site it was easy to flit between to the two to get everything as it happened. Once the girls were ready we took some shots in the elegant bridal room, and then it was time for Amy to make her way downstairs for the ceremony.

Rain was forecast for the day, but luckily it held off so they were able to have the ceremony in the lovely gardens and the photo shoot at some nearby outdoor locations. I hope these images give you a taste of what the day was like.

Emma & Adam - Parehua, Martinborough

Emma & Adam were married on Saturday at Parehua Executive Retreat, Martinborough. Parehua is a gorgeous venue and we always have fun working there. Emma & Adam decided to do a pre-ceremony shoot so we headed on over to see where the girls were getting ready. Emma had the most amazing gown that she had brought over all the way from New York - it was quite a mission getting it here!

We then popped over to see the boys and then it was outside for the 'first look' shots. After that it was off to some nearby spots for the bridal party images.

The ceremony was beautiful - held under the trees by the lake and we had some very welcome cloud cover. A few more shots with Emma & Adam after the ceremony in the grounds of Parehua - making the most of the lovely flax by the lake. Then it was time for the cocktail hour with the guests.

The speeches are great fun to photograph and at this wedding I probably heard one the best speeches yet! It was based on a letter Emma had written year ago, and for a minute we didn't quite know where it was going! I got some great expressions from Emma and the end of the letter was very sweet, and not quite what we were expecting!. I think Megan was forgiven in the end!

Sarah & Kirwan's Brackenridge wedding.

Sarah & Kirwan were married on Friday at Brackenridge, Martinborough. The day started with the girls getting ready at the Spa on site at Brackenridge, and then it was off to see the boys in one the cottages over the road.

Kirwan is a keen fly fisherman and he had some pretty special cuff links for the day, which we had to photograph.

The ceremony was held in the garden at Brackenridge and despite the gloomy looking clouds hanging around the weather held off for us.

Then it was off to the river for some shots with the bridal party.

The fishing theme carried on through to the reception with Kirwans hand tied flies adorning the place cards and river stones decorating the table. We had a fantastic time - thank you for letting us share in your special day!

Claire & Charl-Pierre

The day was full of style and elegance. Cheery Blossom, baby breath...prettiness all around.

We started off with the boys at the White Swan in Greytown. We had to get some shots of the wedding rings, they are engraved with some special words. Claire has an engagement ring engraved with because...

The boys looked fantastic and the rolled up sleeves were a great idea...it was hot! We took some shots of the boys in the nice air conditioned interior of the White Swan and then it was off to see the girls over the road at a little apartment hidden above the Main St Deli.

Claire looked amazing, and we had plenty of time to play around and get some beautiful bridal portraits. We headed off the the ceremony which was taking place at Claire's parent's house in Greytown. They had been working hard all week to get the ceremony site ready and had even constructed an alter out of manuka and fabric...very cool!

After the ceremony the guests enjoyed a variety of games - petanque, shooting, croquet and golf. The sun was still out in full force so we headed in to the wooded area to get some shots of Claire & Charl-Pierre. Luckily Clare and Charl could still watch their guests having fun from where we were taking photographs.

The it was off to the white swan for the reception. Claire & Charl had put a lot of thought into the decorations. Carrying on the relaxed feel of the day, there was no formal sit down meal, with the guests enjoying continuous canapes throughout the night.

Thank you Claire and Charl for having us with you on your special day, we had a blast!

Ok so it rained...all day. It didn't let up for even a moment. Adrianna & Chris didn't let the weather dampen their spirits. After shooting the getting ready shot withe the girls in Dublin St and the boys in Venice St it was time to head off to St Anthony's Church. It's a beautiful church and seeing this stunning couple who had been sweethearts since school brought tears to my eyes. After shooting the family groups in the church it was time to head off to out wet weather location. I was secretly quite pleased it was raining as I had been wanting to use this location for some time now - I think it was worth the wait! The rain finally eased up enough to get a few shots outside with umbrellas. Thank you Adrianna & Chris for letting us share in your special day.

I was very excited to find out that I recieved 5 bornze awards at this years NZIPP Iris Awards.

The Epson/NZIPP Iris Professional Photography awards are the only competition of its kind in New Zealand. Over 1000 photographs, which were entered across ten catagories were judged over three days by some of the top New Zealand and international photographers.

Wairarapa Wedding Show

Photoshoot Fundraiser!

Kawakawa Station

Kawakawa Station is just before Ngawi on the rugged Cape Palliser coastline. It is the home of Sarah and Duncan and was also the stunning setting for their wedding earlier this year. The ceremony site was chosen for its stunning views over the valley and towards the coast, but it wasn't chosen for it easy access! On the morning of the wedding it was all hands on deck with everyone who owned a four wheel drive being given the task of ferrying the guests up to the site. To say the trip up the site was hairy is an understatement, but is was well worth the extra effort!

Jo & Stu were married at Brackenridge in Martinborough in February and we put together this Queensberry Digital album. I am having a lot of fun designing with the digital albums at the moment - there is just so much flexibility, although I still like to keep the designs clean and simple.

This had to be the wettest wedding of the season! It was the just before Wellington anniversary weekend we had weddings booking for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday and the forecast for the Friday wasn't looking pretty. Alice and Fraser were getting married at the Chapel at St Matts, Masterton with a marquee reception in the stunning grounds at the family home.

The morning arrived and for a while we thought we might just be ok...that was before the heavens opened and the thunder and lightning started! We had planned all those gorgeous shots in the sprawling gardens and Evesham and at the nearby Greek Theatre at Rathkelle College, although it was looking like we might have to execute Plan B. We carry plain white umbrellas on every shot and plan for rain - even in January, so we quickly headed off to the undercover areas at St Matts and the archways at the Greek Theatre. The bride and groom kept nice and dry, but it was a different story for us!

Susan & Daniel - Martinborough Hotel

Susan and Daniel were married at the Martinborough Hotel. Their wedding was beautiful and it was a privilege to be part of their special day.

Susan and Daniel have been together for a long tine, I think it is about 10 years. Working with them on the day and listening to the speeches - what really stuck was me was how in love they still are. More so than ever before.

I always think that a testament to a strong relationship is how things are 10, 20 years down the track. I know myself that 12 years and two children later, its not always plain sailing. With patience, commitment, understanding and allowing each other to grow it is amazing how love can grow into something so much more special than what you thought it could be. Weddings like Susan and Daniels always bring this home to me and more often than not I am hiding behind my camera with a tear in my eye! As photographers we really are so lucky and privileged to have such an amazing job - the task of preserving these special moments for future generations.

Desire' and Shaun were married at Lansdowne House, Masterton on a beautiful summers day. The girls had the ultimate in papering at Lorna Potters beauty Salon in Masterton - Desire's hair was something really special! Lansdowne House is quite a unique venue - an old Tudor Style building. The outdoor ceremony was held in the picturesque gardens, whilst the interior of the house and the tree lined driveway made a fantastic backdrop for the formals. The best part was that the bridal party didn't have far to go for photographs! The wedding was photographed by Tanya and Marise, with the album being designed by myself.

Jessica & Tavita are Wairarapa locals, I have known her some of her family members for a few years now so this was a great wedding to photograph. The boys looked very stylish in their cream suits and the girls looked fab in their short pink numbers! It was a windy start to the season with the wedding of Emma & Matt at Brackenridge, Martinborough. The girls had their hair and makeup finished to perfection from the team at Hill Cook, and with Emma's choice of deep purple for the bridesmaid dress and vibrant flowers the whole look was stunning. The photo shoot was at a couple of nearby locations - this is the best part about working in Martinborough, you don't have to go far to get some great spots to work in! Falling off the blogwagon...

Ok - so I have officially fallen off the blog wagon. When I started the blog back in the depths of winter I had such good intentions. I would update the blog weekly with images form all the new weddings we had been shooting, all the new albums going out. It would be great.

From my cosy office in the winter time I had forgotten just how busy I get and with a pre schooler and toddler to contend with ... well what was i thinking!

I was very exciting to find out that I have been awarded two silvers at the recent Kodak Gold Awards, New Zealand. The Kodak Gold Awards are held annually and are for Wedding and Portrait images.

The prints that were entered were taken from the wedding of Kajal & Wayne back in February 2009. A bit Thank you to Kajal & Wayne for being such a great couple to work with!

Another wet wedding.....

We had a few wet days this season - this particular day it was just too miserable to get outside at all. It doesn't happen often, but when it rains it pours!

With Lisa & Nathan's wedding day shoot, we utilised the stylish interior that the Spa at Brackenridge boasts. The images were lovely dispite the horrible day. Lisa & Nathan had their heart set on the stunning outdoor locations available in the Wairarapa, so we decided that a re shoot was to take place so that they were able to get the vineyard shots and amazing vistas which were their main reason for marrying in the Wairarapa.

So the day of the re-shoot arrived and Lisa & Nathan arrived at the studio with their full wedding outfits. We had a lovely time taking the photographs with the luxury of no time constraints and it was well worth the effort. The scenic images really added to the album.

The album they choose was a Queensberry Duo album with a leather cover. The motif and title were printed with the new 'Futura' font which is a contemporary and stylish addition to the options available through Queensberry.

Daniel & Kylie were married back in March 2008 - one of wettest weddings we had that season. We have recently put together their album after a slight delay - they got a bit side tracked with the arrival of their first child! The album was well worth the wait with the selection of a Queensberry Duo album with a stunning Aubergine leather cover to complement the colours of their cover image. The wedding shoot was all undercover, utilising the great locations available at Parliament.

Brackenridge Martinborough - Jodie & Nigel's wedding

It was another stunning Wairarapa day - perfect for an outdoor wedding at Brackenridge, Country Estate Martinborough.

Nigel was getting ready in town with his best man and family all around. It was a fun atmosphere.

The girls were getting ready at a nearby cottage - the two flowers girls were great at helping out and looking beautiful!

The wedding ceremony sent perfectly and I had to admit, listening Victoria tell Jodie & Nigel's story I felt I know them for years. I even had a tear in my eye whilst listening to Natasha Bedingfields rendition of 'Chasing Cars' - lucky I have my camera to hide behind!

The photo shoot took place at a nearby lookout and by the Townhall in Martinborough.

The album is 12x12 Queenberry Duo album, with matching parents albums.

Jenny & Richard have extra good luck on their side - It rained all day on their wedding day! They didn't mind about the weather and had an amazing day regardless. The ceremony took place at Brackenridge, Martinborough and was beautiful. Despite the rain we managed to get outside to take some stunning shots on the hillside.

Jen & Pete were married at Coney wines in Martinborough on a stunning summers day. Jen and her bridesmaid got ready at Parehua Estate before heading off for the ceremony which took place in the vineyard at Coney wines. We made the most of the vintage feel of the wedding with the lovely vintage cars we had for the photo shoot.

Jen & Pete chose to display their images in a classic matted Queensberry album.

The day started with the girls excitedly getting ready at the Bolton Hotel, Wellington. The ceromony took place at the historic Old St Pauls, Thorndon with the photoshoot following on at Parliment bulidings. Hecy & Simon chose a Queensberry digital photobook for their album with a half photofront cover. They also opted to get two smaller copy albums as gifts for their parents.

Valentines Day Romance

Victoria and Andrew had been planning their wedding for a very long time. It was my first booking for the 2009 season and it was good that they started planning early as we had many other couples wanting the same date - Saturday 14th February.

Victoria and Andrew had planned a wedding with a rustic country theme with the ceremony taking place in the gardens at Brackenridge Country Retreat and the guests seated on hay bales. We continued the country theme with the photo shoot taking place at a nearby lookout with sheep and fields as part of the backdrop.

They chose a Queensberry Duo album to display their images with Ivory pages in the pagemount style. The simple design complimented their wedding images beautifully

Murdoch James Estate - Martinborough

Rachel & Grant were married at the beautiful Murdoch James Estate in Martinborough. The Claremont Motels in Martinborough provided a peaceful setting for the preparations. Rachel arrived in a London Taxi - a fitting choice as they had just returned from many years in the UK. They were married in a wonderful setting in the vineyard and we didn't have to go far for the photo shoot and the vineyard is surrounded by fantastic view over the countryside.

Kajal & Wayne were married on 7th February 2009 at Ohariu Farm, Wellington. It was an amazing day - full of emotion and laughter! We were lucky with the weather - slightly overcast which was perfect for the photographs. Kajal had included her Indian heritage with her hands painted with henna and a traditional Indian headdress. Wayne's family and friends came all the way from the UK to witness the special event.

Another fur baby to visit the studio was Alfie - a three month old shar pei puppy. He was a real cutie with a great personality - lots of fun! He behaved wonderfully, especailly for such a young dog. His friends Natalie & Steven just love their newest addition to the family!

Recently we sent out the album for the wedding of Rachel & Cory. Rachel & Cory were a relaxed fun loveing couple and nothing seemed to faze them. The day was so windy but we still got some fantastic shots! The wedding was held at Brackenridge in Martinborough with the photoshoot taking place in a local vineyard and some nearby paddocks. They choose a 12x12 Queensberry album in a Duo style with an iron leather cover with a 1/2 photofront cover. The album came together beautifly!
